BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst has given birth to her third child, her co-stars have announced. The presenter only headed off on maternity leave from the BBC One morning show a number of days ago but Jon Kay and Sally Nugent had the happy news of Nina's baby girl's arrival to share on Monday (July 3).
The pair were at the helm of BBC Breakfast to start the week with Sally telling viewers: "Some very exciting news now about our colleague Nina Warhurst, who we said goodbye to not very many days ago as she went off on maternity leave. She has welcomed a very healthy, beautiful baby girl."
Pictures of Nina’s newborn daughter were then shown on screen, as Jon added: ‘And there she is. Nina has told us the baby’s name is a working progress, but the great news is they’re all doing well after what Nina says was brilliant care from the team at St Mary’s in Manchester."

He added: "Isn’t she gorgeous?" Sally added that Nina said that she’s watching BBC Breakfast from home after giving birth, adding: "Morning Nina," before saying: "Along with her baby, and two beautiful big brothers, and is very grateful for all the gorgeous messages that she’s had from people at home who are watching too.
"So she wants to pass on her thanks for everything. All the kind words people have said." Jon added before moving on with the show: "And all our love to you and the family Nina. That is fantastic. We’re delighted for all of you."
Nina announced in March this year that she was expecting her third child as she shared a social media post to mark Mother's Day. "Happy Mother’s Day to all of those who are any part of this endless handover of love, values, genes, chaos and perpetually crumb-infested kitchens," she wrote as she debuted her baby bump in a snap taken in the BBC studio.
"I’d like to say “you got this Mama!” But maybe you haven’t. I dunno. It’s hard isn’t it? That said we are doing it again. It’s been a funky few months… involving intense migraines, vomiting, morning kebabs, first time acne, small acts of violence against fruit, afternoon kebabs, tears, spontaneous snoozes, anxiety and more kebabs.
"I am settling in to the middle chunk (emphasis on chunk) and enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature and her tiny kicks and flutters. The boys and the cat have been enjoying their new chair. God willing, Baby Doner-Shish joins the outside world in the summer."
She added: "I am blown away that we do this. And acutely aware of the privilege, born of nothing but fortune. Sending love to those who’ve had to say goodbye to the babies they lost and the ones they dreamed of."
