BBC Breakfast was temporarily replaced by The Travel Show on Sunday as urgent repairs were carried out to equipment. The show was due to start at 6am however views found themselves watching a replacement programme.
When it finally did get started, at 7am, no mention was made of what the issues had been. However presenters Roger Johnson, 53, and Sima Kotecha, 42 both took to social media to give their own updates, reports The Mirror.
Roger posted a picture of crew members looking at computer equipment. He said: "Running repairs to @BBCBreakfast computers … while you’re enjoying The Travel Show! Back online for 7am."
And when his followers probed whether he had spilt coffee over the computers he gave further details. He added: "...in truth, the makeshift mini music stand, which holds the screen, collapsed!"
While Sima also shared photos of the incident as crew urgently made repairs. She tweeted: "Lovely to be back with @RogerJ_01 .. it’s been a while. And thanks to these lads for their last minute DIY after laptop collapse - eek! @BBCBreakfast @BBCOne."
It comes after viewers were left surprised yesterday after Charlie Stayt was replaced by Roger yesterday as he joined Naga Munchetty to host. Charlie, 60, and Naga, 47, usually present the show together from Thursday to Saturday each week, with temporary presenters tending to fill up the couch on a Sunday.
