BBC Breakfast host Nina Warhurst has given birth to a baby her delighted fellow stars have announced. The popular presenter has had a baby girl - which is her third child, they said this morning.
It was Nina’s co-stars Sally Nugent and Jon Kay who announced the news on today’s show and showed a picture. Nina, 42, has two sons. Digby, seven, and Michael, five, whom she shares with husband Ed Fraser.
Sally, 51, said: “She has welcomed a very healthy, beautiful baby girl,” Sally told viewers. As a photo of the newborn appeared on screen, Jon gushed: “And there she is!”
Jon, 53, revealed Nina and Ed haven’t yet decided on a name for their baby girl but insisted it’s a “work in progress”. He added: “The great news is they’re all doing well after what Nina said was great care from the team at St. Mary’s.”
“Isn’t she gorgeous?” added the presenter. Sally added: “I believe this as well- Nina said she’s watching from home, morning, Nina! Along with the baby and two beautiful big brothers and she’s very grateful for all the gorgeous messages she’s had from people at home who are watching too.
“So she wants to pass on her thanks for everything - all the kind words people have said.”
Nina announced she was pregnant with her third child just a few months ago as she shared a sweet snap on Instagram in March. Stood in front of the famous red sofa while cradling her belly, the presenter was grinning from ear to ear and sported a figure-hugging black dress which perfectly emphasised her blossoming bump.
She was flooded with support as she started her maternity leave on June 21 as Nina joked “I went big early, I’m big boned, actually I’m not big boned I just popped out early so it felt like I’ve been pregnant forever and for months people have been saying ‘your bosses at the BBC need to let you go’.”.
