Chelsea's overhaul of the playing staff at Stamford Bridge under Todd Boehly's ownership has been one of mass changes and supreme transfer fees. An emphasis on young talent has been displayed at the club in the previous two transfer windows, with the U.S billionaire's spending surpassing £350million since his takeover.
Despite their influx of quality from around the world, fortunes on the pitch have been far from ideal under Graham Potter. A number of injuries, partnered with underperforming individuals, have meant Potter's side find themselves occupying 10th place in the Premier League table.
The Blues have done their up-most this month in adding reinforcements to Potter's squad, with the arrivals of Mykhailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile set to be followed by PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke. And whilst top four remains the aim for this season, the work conducted over the summer is expected to be vital for the long-term ambitions in SW6.

One player that faces uncertainty over his future in west London is Kai Havertz. The 2020 Champions League hero has struggled to hit the heights many would have expected when he completed his £75.8m switch from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020.
The Germany international has scored 29 goals in 118 appearances for Chelsea, largely taking up the role as a false 9 under Thomas Tuchel and Potter. With Mudryk and Madueke improving the options in the final third, the Blues are expected to sell a number of their current players to recoup millions into the back.
Havertz has been rumoured to be attracting interest from elsewhere, with a return to Germany tipped. Now, according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich are watching the 23-year-old's situation at Chelsea over a summer move.
It's said that a deal could occur at the end of the season for around £32million-52million. In the summer, Havertz will enter the final 24 months of his current deal at Stamford Bridge, meaning the chance to collect any of the £75.8m spent to bring him to England is now.
Right now, Havertz remains a key cog within Potter's set-up, but the Chelsea boss has hinted at the difficulties he faces with the number of forwards at the club.
"That's the challenge for us," he said. "We want to do better, want to play better, want to play better and get more points and wins. You need a squad that is balanced, that has the right amount of competition, and I think that he [Mudryk] brings that. Then it’s my job to make the selections.”
