Incumbent Ryan Mackenzie (R), Bob Brooks (D), and three other candidates are running in the general election for Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District on November 3, 2026.
Lehigh Valley Public Media's Tom Shortell wrote, "The seat is considered one of the last toss-up U.S. House seats in America thanks to its near equal numbers of registered Democrats and Republicans and unusually large population of unaffiliated voters. Majority control of the House has been decided by just a handful of seats in the past six years, making toss-up seats such as the Lehigh Valley's a top priority for both political candidates."
The 7th District has been won by both parties on the federal level. Joe Biden (D) defeated Donald Trump (R) 50% to 49% in 2020, and in 2024, Trump defeated Kamala Harris (D) 51% to 48%. Incumbent Susan Wild (D) won re-election in 2022 by a 51% to 49% margin, and Mackenzie won in 2024 by a 50% to 49% margin. Both parties and satellite groups have invested resources in the district. As of June 30, 2026, $9.4 million had been spent by candidates and satellite groups. Shortell wrote, "[The 2026 total] also outpaces where the 2024 election cycle stood at the same point. Small financial investments were made during the primaries, but spending exploded in the general election, reaching $38 million, a record for the district."
