Bastille Day stage could spark fireworks in Tour de France duel

BELLEVILLE (FRANCE) - The ongoing duel between defending champion Jonas Vingegaard and two time winner Tadej Pogacar may ignite on the Grand Colombier mountain on Friday's stage which falls on the French national holiday of July 14.

Dane Vingegaard holds a slender 17 seconds lead over the fiery Slovenian Pogacar, who laid the foundation stone for his stealth Tour de France win at the same scene in 2020.
