Barry Keoghan picked up Best Supporting Actor for The Banshees Of Inisherin at the the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday, with the incredibly talented actor dedicating his coveted gong to children in foster care.
The Dublin-born actor, 30, was in great company on the night, as his co-star Kerry Condon also won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Síobhan in Martin McDonagh's Oscar-nominated dark comedy.
The black comedy written and directed by McDonagh also took the awards for Outstanding British Film and Original Screenplay during the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall.
Following his amazing win, Barry dedicated his BAFTA to his baby son, his late mother and 'the kids that are dreaming to be something from the area that I came from' - in Dublin's north inner city.
Barry thanked Ireland and the film's cast and crew during his acceptance speech.
And reflecting on what the prize means for Ireland, Barry said: "It encourages the arts at home and we are an island of storytelling and great actors and poets and writers.
"And this helps the industry massively at home and encourages people to send the scripts in and go for what they want to do."
Speaking in the winner's room following his endearing acceptance speech, Barry further gushed over his pride for Ireland and the seemingly endless Irish nominees at both the BAFTAs and the Oscars - before pointing out that he had made the wrong choice in outfit.
After realising he was wearing an all red ensemble, Barry joked that he should have been more patriotic at the BAFTAs and donned a green suit instead.
"We're an Island of great storytelling with amazing actors, and winning something like this helps the industry back home massively. I think overall the Irish have 14 nominations at the Oscars - that's crazy.
"And I'm wearing red tonight. I should have worn green," Barry joked.
Barry added that he planned to celebrate his win with his son Brando by ordering room service after the ceremony.
“I’m going to go home now and cuddle my son,” the dad-of-one confessed. "I love the bones of him."
Talented Barry added that he plans to keep his coveted BAFA award under a picture of his late mother, who sadly passed away when he was a child.
