Interim Rangers head coach Barry Ferguson says he was quietly pleased that Danilo was disappointed not to get on for his side against Fenerbahce midweek.
The Ibrox club progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League on penalties after a 3-3 aggregate draw with Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce.
At half time in extra time on Thursday, Danilo looked all but set to come on, with Vaclav Cerny cramping up. The Czech winger was on the ground getting treatment, although he eventually rallied to play the closing stages, meaning his teammate didn't get on.

Danilo was visibly frustrated at such a happening and could be seen striking the Rangers bench in anger.
Stand-in boss Ferguson wasn't annoyed at the Brazilian forward for his actions: "Listen, there was an incident that a player wasn't happy [Danilo], and I would rather my players be like that," he said.
“That's a wee bit of anger. That's what I have to see - Don't be happy if you’re not playing.
“That's just the way football operates. You know, it's like it was chaos at that time. We're going into the final 15 minutes of extra time. But listen, he [Cerny] managed to get through that and, obviously, slotted a penalty home."
While there may be concerns over whether Cerny will be fit to feature at Parkhead this afternoon, Ferguson has told the attacker on no uncertain terms that he will be playing: "Vaclav will not be tired," he said.
"He's been told that. It's all in the mind.”
