Barry Ferguson has called on Rangers to hand Robby McCrorie the chance to be No1 as he presented an idea over Allan McGregor.
Michael Beale has handed the 25-year-old the gloves for the last two outings against Aberdeen and Celtic and he impressed in both. He kept two clean sheets and made some notable saves as he bids to stake a claim ahead of the big summer rebuild. Veteran keeper McGregor is set to depart while Jon McLaughlin could also exit the club.
Jack Butland has been named as a potential arriva l while reports have also suggested the Light Blues are watching Fortuna Sittard loanee Ivor Pandur as they bid to strengthen their goalkeeping ranks ahead of challenging Ange Postecoglou's men next term and bidding to reach the Champions League group stage once again.

Ibrox hero Ferguson believes McCrorie has shown in the last two outings he is capable of stepping up to the plate and suggested people don't trust him because he is Scottish. The pundit also mentioned McGregor should be kept as back-up to McCrorie with his experience and quality invaluable for the club.
He told Go Radio: "I think 'why not give him the chance?' Is it because he's Scottish? He's shown enough to me that he can be Rangers' number one.
"Do you go out and spend X amount on a keeper or do you get a really good keeper on a free transfer and pay a huge amount in salary. I think he's shown in the two games he's been in and previous games to that, let's be fair to him, that he can be a top goalkeeper for Rangers.
"And he's 25 years of age, he's not a young kid. For me it's easy because he's Scottish 'oh, we go and get someone else'. No, give him the opportunity because I think he deserves it.
"He's been training alongside a guy who has handled pressure his full career, Allan McGregor. He's learned off one of the best, no doubt about it. And he's handled a big pressurised game at the weekend there.
"He has had a few injuries but I'm sure they've assessed it and he's fine. If he's injury free, give him the opportunity. I love seeing Scottish people being given the opportunity."
He added: "I would love to try and keep Allan McGregor. "You've got to keep a guy with that experience and knowhow.
"I did hear a few months ack that there might be a coaching role. If he's fit enough to train most days why would you not keep a player with that experience and quality about. Maybe not to be number one, maybe Allan will accept that."
