Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has once again dismissed reports that he will leave the Camp Nou this summer amid Liverpool links.
The Reds have reportedly lodged a bid for the France international as their speculated interest came during reports that he was unhappy with the La Liga champions. Despite featuring 38 times for Xavi's side in their return to the pinnacle of Spanish football, there were claims in the media that he was upset with how he was being played out of position.
Jurgen Klopp admitted in recent weeks that their transfer options aren't narrowed to just one department, with defence to attack eyed for improvement this summer. Jorg Schmadtke was appointed as the new sporting director to replace the departing Julian Ward and will start his role at the beginning of June.

Kounde has already reiterated his intent to remain in Spain this summer but on Tuesday, he once again expressed that he doesn't want to sign for any other club.
"So that it remains clear...my future? I will stay at Barcelona, of course" he told beIN Sports.
Barcelona manager Xavi took aim at the press for sparking the speculation over the reporting of the French defender. The legendary Spanish midfielder guided the Catalonians back to the top of La Liga this season in his second season in charge.
"It is that there has been no case. It has been more a matter of the press. In fact, I had a conversation with Koundé a week ago with no problems. It is true that he is more comfortable as a centre-back than as a winger," he said in an interview with SPORT.
"They also made me play as a pivot and I was more comfortable later on, but many times I had to play as a pivot due to team circumstances and that was the conversation.
"I know you are central Jules, but due to circumstances of the script and the team has adapted very well."
