Barcelona have reportedly rejected Manchester United's improved offer for Frenkie de Jong.
MEN Sport reported on Thursday that United were getting set to submit a new bid for the Dutch midfielder after their first one was turned down by the La Liga giants. According to Marca, this next bid has already been rejected by Barca.
They claim that United's second offer amounts to £56m, which the Spanish media outlet claims is not enough for the Catalan club to accept for De Jong. Marca understands though that United are just £8m away from striking an agreement with Barcelona.

Erik ten Hag has made De Jong his top transfer priority this summer after midfielders including Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic left Old Trafford after their contracts expired.
Elsewhere, AS Roma are reportedly cooling their interest in Anthony Martial.
Martial made just nine league appearances in the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla having failed to bring into the United team consistently under Ralf Rangnick. According to Teleradiostereo via Inside Futbol, Jose Mourinho was considering a move for his former United player.
However, Roma are believed to have been put off by the finances involved with bringing Martial to Italy. The Frenchman's contract at Old Trafford expires in 2024.
