Barcelona 'agree' Jules Kounde fee as Neymar makes major transfer decision amid Chelsea links

Here are your football.london Chelsea morning headlines on Sunday, July 24.

Barcelona agree Jules Kounde fee

football.london understands that the Blues are 'extremely confident' about signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde after verbally agreeing a fee in the region of £55million and agreeing personal terms with the 23-year-old months ago.

Thomas Tuchel recently revealed that he wants to add at least a 'minimum of one more' defender to his squad ahead of next season.

Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger have already left the club this summer, whilst the futures of Spanish duo Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta remain in doubt. Kounde has been a long-term transfer target for the west Londoners, but the saga continues after reports in Spain suggest Barcelona are preparing to hijack a deal for the France international, similar to the situation with Raphinha.

“I don’t know what kind of plans they have for me - I want to stay.”

Pavard can play at centre-back and full-back making the France international an attractive proposition in the transfer market, especially for the Blues who are looking for cover in both areas.

Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann commented on the Frenchman's future and admitted: "I really want him to stay, I want to keep him.”
