The early May bank holiday may have only just been and gone but many of us are looking to the next long weekend in the calendar. In 2022, things are a little different as the spring bank holiday, which usually takes place in late May, has been moved to June.
What's more, the UK has also been given an extra bank holiday this year to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The unprecedented anniversary, which marks 70 years since Her Majesty's accession, will be celebrated with a four-day weekend.
The celebration will take place in early June, with the spring bank holiday moved to Thursday, June 2 and the Platinum Jubilee being marked on Friday, June 3. It means an extra-long weekend for most of us.

On the four-day bank holiday, the official royal website said: "On February 6 this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
"To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives will take place throughout the year, culminating in a four-day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday, June 2, to Sunday, June 5. The bank holiday will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.
"The four days of celebrations will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service."
