Many shops and supermarkets will be closed on Monday, September 19, for a Bank Holiday to mark the Queen's funerals. The majority of retailers have already said they will close, including the likes of John Lewis and Primark, so staff can watch the funeral, due to start at 11am.
But some places will remain open or have altered their opening times to allow people to pick up some essential items, including some supermarkets, Liverpool Echo reports. While most of the big stores will be shut throughout the day, some of the smaller convenience stores will open at certain times. We’ve rounded up what to expect on bank holiday Monday as the nation mourns.
Tesco
The big Tesco supermarkets will be closed all day on Monday and smaller Express stores will shut until 5pm.

These stores will close by 10.30am and remain closed for the rest of the day, except the four stores closest to Westminster Abbey and St George’s Chapel, Windsor, which will reopen after the funeral service.
Stores operated by franchise partners in key travel hubs and public service locations, such as hospitals, are expected to remain open. There will be no customer delivery services.
