Mountain Rescue crews were called out to several major incidents across Scotland over the bank holiday weekend. Multi-agency responses were scrambled to scenic beauty spots after hill walkers got into trouble at the scenic locations.
The first incident saw a person plunge from coastal rocks on Killiedraught Bay in Eyemouth at 1.05pm on Sunday May 7. Crews from Berwick Coastguard Rescue team, Dunbar Coastguard and RNLI Eyemouth Lifeboat attended and on arrival, a hiker was found injured.
They were provided medical assistance at the scene. Dramatic images from the rescue mission show teams searching through rocky terrain before carrying the casualty on a stretcher to a nearby beach for assessment.
