Bharatiya Janata Party is the only political party reflecting the “Indian spirit and Indian way of life” and is striving for making the country “global leader”, hence it is a political necessity,” asserted Telangana State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday.
The party does not belong to a “single family” or a “single individual”, it has been formed with the sweat and blood of party workers, he pointed out and claimed, “We never craved for any power or position. We have always believed in our party’s ideology, ideals and striven to propagate them”.
Addressing a meeting at the party office after unfurling saffron flag on the occasion of the foundation day, he said BJP’s strength is its philosophy of “Nation First, Party Next and Individual Last”. Based on this spirit, it has grown into a massive force forming governments in 20 states. Now, the party has developed as a major political force in Telangana with the cadre sacrificing their lives fighting against extremists and ‘Jihadi’ elements, he said.
“With the same spirit, we shall soon end the anarchic rule of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and make the saffron flag flutter on the Golconda Fort after the next elections,” he declared amid cheers. For that, the party cadre has to take up an extensive door-to-door campaign to expose the “corrupt, dynastic and dictatorial rule of the TRS”.
Describing the day as a festive day for BJP workers across the country, Mr. Sanjay Kumar said in the last 41 years the strength of the party has been its dedicated cadre “ready to sacrifice even their lives to spread the party philosophy across the length and breadth of the country.”
Recalling the days of the BJP launch in 1980 in Mumbai, the Karimnagar MP recalled the efforts of “great” leaders like former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former deputy PM L.K. Advani in making the party grow from two seats in 1984 into a “mighty political force with 303 Lok Sabha seats”.
He reminded that while Vajpayee Government held power for a full term, it was Narendra Modi who ended the “hegemony of the Congress and the regional parties in 2014”. “Since then, the party and the nation have been making rapid strides under the leadership of Mr. Modi and strategic guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah,” he said. Party floor leader in the Assembly T Raja Singh, general secretaries Mantri Srinivas, Bangaru Sruthi, vice-president Ch. Ramachandra Reddy, secretary Uma Rani and others took part in the celebrations.
