Bengaluru city traffic police have announced traffic diversions and road closures across six zones on Thursday for Bakrid prayers, with restrictions beginning as early as 5 am in some areas.
Commuters are advised to check alternate routes before stepping out, as key arterials including Millers Road, Bannerghatta Main Road, and the BGS Flyover stretch on Mysore Road will be closed to traffic during morning hours.
KG Halli: 5 am to 2 pm
The longest restriction window of the day applies in KG Halli, where the stretch from Nagawara Junction to Pottery Circle will remain closed. Commuters heading toward Shivajinagar should reroute via Hennur Junction, HBR 80 Feet Road, and the Lingarajapuram Flyover. Those coming from Shivajinagar toward Nagawara should take Spencer Road, Coles Road, and Veeres Road. No parking will be permitted anywhere between Pottery Circle and Nagawara Junction for the duration.

Pulakeshinagar: 7 am to 12 pm
Millers Road will be closed near the Khuddus Saheb Eidgah Ground. Restrictions also extend to St. John's Church Road and Nandidurga Road. Commuters can bypass the area using Bamboo Bazaar Junction, Netaji Road, and Promenade Road, or use Queens Road via Cantonment Road to reach Jayamahal Road.
Chamarajpet: 8 am onwards
This closure is likely to have the widest impact on city traffic. The BGS Flyover stretch connecting Toll Gate Junction and Town Hall on Mysore Road will be shut in both directions. Heavy vehicles have been directed to use Goods Shed Road via Veterinary Junction. Light vehicles should head to Sirsi Junction and proceed via JJ Nagar, Tank Bund Road, and Binny Mill Road. Commuters from Basavanagudi and Chamarajpet heading to Majestic can use 1st Main Road and 5th Cross Road to reach Sirsi Circle.
RT Nagar: 6:30 am to 1 pm
Restrictions apply on CBI Road and Jayamahal Road toward RT Nagar Main Road and Dinnur. The JC Nagar Police Station Junction toward Haj Bhavan on Nandidurga Road will also be closed. Alternate routes include Sanjaynagar Cross, BB Road, and Gundu Rao Circle toward Devegowda Road. Commuters heading to Haj Bhavan should use Priyadarshini Road and Jayamahal Palace Gate via Cantonment.
Mico Layout: 8 am to 12 pm
Bannerghatta Main Road will be restricted near Gurappanapalya Junction, with closures covering sections from both Sagar Hospital Junction and Sai Ram Junction. 39th Cross Road from Gurappanapalya Junction to Reddy Hospital Junction will also be closed. Commuters from Dairy Circle should reroute via Tilak Nagar Main Road, East End Main Road, and the Outer Ring Road near Jayadeva Junction.
KS Layout: 8 am to 12 pm
The section on Kanakapura Main Road from Sarakki Signal to the KS Layout signal on Outer Ring Road will be restricted. Commuters should use Sarakki Market, Banashankari Bus Stand, and Bendre Circle to reconnect with the Outer Ring Road.
