Was Baker Mayfield prescient about getting claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week? Was he informed Sean McVay’s team was his likely destination?
Whatever it is, we now know from the quarterback/hologram who led his new team to a wild comeback against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday that he booked a flight to L.A. before the team claimed him off waivers.
That’s what he said to the Thursday Night Football crew postgame: “I took a gamble. I booked the flight before the waiver wire went through.”
He said it with a smirk, so who knows?
