Bahamas Judge Revokes Bail For Accused Hitman Plotter

Donald Trump Fulton County Court Continues Court Business in Trump Documents Case

A Bahamas judge has made the decision to revoke bail for Lindsay Shiver, who stands accused of orchestrating a plot to hire a hitman to kill her former husband, ex-NFL player Robert Shiver, with the assistance of her alleged Bahamian lover.

Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson took this action following recent public statements made by Lindsay Shiver and Terrance Bethel, which were deemed to be in violation of the court's directives.

Lindsay Shiver, 37, and Terrance Bethel, 30, were arrested in the Bahamas in July 2023 along with the alleged hitman, Faron Newbold Jr., and have pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The case sheds light on the tumultuous relationship between the Shivers, which culminated in divorce filings after 13 years of marriage. Allegations of infidelity and domestic abuse have been exchanged between the two parties, with both seeking primary custody of their children and sole use of their $2.5 million home in Georgia.

Grant-Thompson had previously granted Lindsay Shiver bail in December of the previous year, allowing her to return to the United States under specific conditions. However, a recent television interview conducted by Shiver prompted the judge to revoke her bail, citing a breach of the court's leniency.

The judge expressed concerns that the public statements made by the defendants could potentially influence the impartiality of future jurors, thus impacting the administration of justice in the case.

Despite arguments from Shiver's legal team that she had not violated her bail conditions, the judge maintained her decision to revoke bail, emphasizing the need to ensure Shiver's safety after an incident where a previous boyfriend allegedly attempted to harm her.

The case took a dramatic turn when Lindsay Shiver called 911 on Robert Shiver in July 2023, following a dispute over travel arrangements. Subsequent investigations revealed alleged messages indicating a plot to harm Robert, leading to the arrests of Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold.

Robert Shiver, who expressed gratitude for his survival during a court appearance in December 2023, remains at the center of this complex legal battle that continues to unfold in the Bahamas.
