Catherine Zeta-Jones pulled put all the stops in a showstopping purple and gold flowing gown at the BAFTA Film Awards 2023. The glamorous actress, who shot to fame in the much-loved drama series The Darling Buds of May in 1991, wowed as she took to the stage to present the best film accolade to All Quiet On The Western Front.
The Oscar-winning star, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the vampish Velma Kelly in Chicago in 2003, looked incredible as she took to the stage at at London's Royal Festival Hall. But Catherine, 53, had viewers scratching their heads over her accent as the ceremony was screened on BBC One.
Some didn't realise that Swansea-born Catherine was Welsh as they associated her with her Latina character Elena de la Vega in the film The Mask of Zorro. @TheDouggernaut marvelled on Twitter: "Just found out Catherine Zeta Jones isn't latina." And @Mofoman360 asked: "How incredible did Catherine Zeta Jones look She’s 53."
