BAFTA's red carpet 2026: Hollywood's biggest stars arrive as ceremony gets underway

The countdown to the BAFTA 2026 awards ceremony is officially over, with Hollywood’s biggest celebrities now making their red-carpet arrivals.

From sharp, sculpted gowns to jewel-toned suits, the fashion is already shaping up to be one of the night’s biggest talking points.

Alan Cumming is hosting the ceremony this year at London's Royal Festival Hall, which includes performances from Jessie Ware and the voices behind KPop Demon Hunters.

Big names tipped to win this year are Jessie Buckley for her role as the wife of William Shakespeare in Hamnet, as well as Timothée Chalamet for his role in Marty Supreme.

Stellan Skarsgård and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, stars of the Scandinavian family drama Sentimental Value, are widely regarded as frontrunners for the Best Supporting Actor and Actress awards, respectively.

Buckley has been unbeatable in the awards season so far this year, taking home the Lead Actress in Film award at the Irish Film and Television Awards (Iftas) at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on Friday.

The 36-year-old Irish actress, known for her other performances in Wild Rose and The Lost Daughter, arrived earlier wearing a stunning electric blue Grecian-style dress.

She was not the only star to turn heads, with another standout look belonging to Teyana Taylor.

Taylor, who is nominated for best supporting actress for One Battle After Another, flexed her style muscles in a dramatic brown outfit.

The coat-style dress featured a high collar that reached past her ears, ruching and a long train.

The trend for daring, risqué outfits prevailed across the red carpet, with Emma Stone braving the London chill in a black halter-neck dress featuring a dramatic keyhole cut-out, while Carey Mulligan stunned in a navy halterneck that was backless except for a single delicate strap.

Timothée Chalamet, renowned for his daring fashion choices, kept it understated in a relaxed, all-black tuxedo.

While not pictured on the red carpet, Chalamet’s partner and Kardashian’s star, Kylie Jenner, is said to be supporting her boyfriend at tonight’s ceremony.

The ceremony is available to watch with a two-hour delay from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
