Senator Cadell also admitted he was let down by non-alcoholic Guinness at the Parliamentary Friends of Ireland in conjunction with the embassy.
"As a Lager drinker, found the Guinness a bit bitey, like watered-down Marmite," he said.
He was also gifted a CAT umbrella while leaving an event in the rain.
