Bad Bunny continues to dominate the global music scene and, as it happens every time he releases new track's, this year's "Nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana" automatically started to be blasted from innumerable speakers in a heartbeat.
"Monaco" is one of the album's highlights with its references to Formula 1, Argentine soccer players Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, as well as LeBron James, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sofia Vergara. But beyond the start-studded lyrics, the song has captivated audiences and racked in accolades.
Among the latest is being featured among Associated Press' Songs of the Year. A list of 10 tracks published on Tuesday by the media outlet described Bad Bunny's album as an "exercise in getting back to the basics while unraveling the complications of fame, the source material for most of the album's lyrics."
"Monaco," it said, is a bright spot as a "Latin trap song with a need for speed that wouldn't feel too far removed on his debut album, 2018's "X 100PRE." Benito's smooth, somber baritone carries the track, as does the rush sound of a Formula One car that bleeds into baroque production," adds journalist Maria Sherman when explaining the rationale for the only Latino song to make it to her list. "Flowers", by Miley Cyrus, "Crave" by Paramore and "OMG" by New Jeans are some of the other featured songs.
Bad Bunny was the second most-listened musician in this year's Spotify Wrapped, only behind Taylor Swift, who broke his three year streak at the top of the streaming app. El conejo malo also stood at the top of the Top 10 Global Albums list with MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO.
Bad Bunny recently announced an album tour called "Most Wanted." It was announced through an Instagram post which was accompanied with a short clip of the singer on a horse coming across tour posters.
Benito is set to travel through the U.S. for 47 concert dates including cities with three dates such as Miami, Brooklyn, Chicago. The Puerto Rican singer is expected to perform his greatest hits along with songs from his new album.
Bad Bunny's website shows the full dates. "No one knows what's going to happen tomorrow, don't let him escape. Because maybe you won't see him again," reads a sentence in the website.
Puerto Rico was able to experience a first hand look into this era of Bad Bunny at an album release listening party held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.
The singer had fans thrilled at the event with special appearances in the album such as Feid, Young Miko, and Arcangel who were in attendance.
