Playground Productions, the children’s and family entertainment company overseeing the Backyard Sports franchise, has shared a sneak peek at its new Backyard Baseball game, scheduled to launch on July 9 for consoles, PC and Mac.
The game has been rebuilt for modern platforms while staying true to the feel of the original series. Fan favorites like Pablo Sanchez return alongside updated gameplay, colorful visuals and expanded modes designed for today’s audience. It marks the first new Backyard Sports release on modern consoles in 15 years.
The teaser trailer shows the game’s visual style, blending 3D environments with 2D elements and highlights familiar faces like Kenny Kawaguchi, Pete Wheeler and Kiesha Phillips. It also captures the playful neighborhood atmosphere the series is known for. More information on gameplay, features and additional characters will be shared in the months ahead.
