This is the cute moment a baby was left baffled when playing peek-a-boo - after his dad shaved his beard off. Michael Balderson, 42, first revealed his freshly-shaven face to little Theo when he was 11 months.
The moment was captured on film as the pair played a game of peek-a-boo. Tthe video shows the baby laughing until his dad drops the towel covering his chin - then the tot's face became a picture of confusion.
Michael, a medical physicist, said: “He didn’t cry. His jaw dropped and hit the floor and looked towards me in shock.
“He took a deep breath and composed himself. “After about 20 seconds he realised it was still me but even towards the end of filming the video, he didn’t seem completely convinced.”
The dad lives in Phoenix, Arizona, USA with his wife Amy, 38, a dental hygienist and their children Autumn, six, Nate, nine, and Carter, 12. He added: “He has the cutest little sad face."
But the youngster hasn't had long to get used to the new look. Michael said: "The beard is growing back slowly and my wife prefers me with it.
“For Theo’s whole life he has known me with a beard. I think Theo prefers me with the beard too as he likes to grab and pull it.”
Mum-of-four Amy added: “I think all men look better with a beard, right?”
