A British Airways customer has told how he is still waiting for a refund worth £5,200 for a holiday booked three years ago.
Michael Callaghan, 57, from Worcester, was due to travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
He had booked the dream holiday in January 2020 - over three years ago and before travel restrictions were put in place following the Covid pandemic.
Mr Callaghan said his family have been unable to afford to go on holiday this year, even though there are no major travel restrictions for the first summer since the pandemic began.
He told The Telegraph : “We were first offered vouchers to rebook for the following year, which we did, but we asked for a refund in July 2021.
“The resort was celebrating Walt Disney World’s 25th anniversary and staying there was more expensive.
“But after close to 10 months – nothing. Trying to get someone to speak to has been like banging my head against a brick wall.”
A spokesman for BA apologised for the delays and confirmed it has now “actioned” the refund for Mr Callaghan.

If your holiday has been cancelled by an airline, then you are automatically entitled to a refund or you should be able to rebook onto another flight.
You may need to pay any price difference in fares, if your new dates are more expensive. But you may also be due compensation on top of any cancelled flights.
You may also be offered a voucher from the airline to use for a future booking - you can choose this option if you wish, but if you'd prefer the full refund you are entitled to it.
If you're part-way through a journey, you also have a right to fly back to your original departure airport.
Last week, MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis explained how thousands of holidaymakers should check if they’re owed up to £505 each.
To be entitled to compensation, you need to have been told about your cancelled flight less than two weeks and offered a replacement flight that delays you by at least two hours.
