B&M hails 'relentless focus' for continued sales growth

B&M has reported a jump in sales for the first quarter of its new financial year.

The Liverpool-headquartered discount retail giant has posted a group revenue of £1.3bn for the three months to June 24, 2023, up from the £1.1bn it achieved during the same period in 2022.

In the UK, B&M's revenue increased from £957m to £1bn while its Heron Foods brand grew its sales from £113m to £135m.

B&M's operations in France also increased its revenue from £91m to £117m during the quarter.

Chief executive Alex Russo said: "Our strong trading momentum demonstrates the strength of our unchanged strategy to relentlessly focus on price, product and excellence in retail standards.

"The business is well positioned as we start to transition to our autumn winter season.

"We will continue to work hard to help all our customers manage the cost-of-living crisis."
