A West Lothian country-style B&B has collected a top prize at national awards for their culinary excellence.
The Arden Country House in Linlithgow has won the AA Breakfast of the Year award for Scotland. The award recognises culinary greatness of B&B breakfasts across the country.
Edinburgh Live reported that the B&B, which is known for its castle-like appearance, serves a beautiful full Scottish breakfast which consists of sausage, bacon, square sausage, a tattie scone, haggis, black pudding eggs, a hash brown and a tomato.
But if the huge classic isn’t to your liking, the guest house also offers a gorgeous stack of American-style pancakes with syrup and fresh fruit.
Beth Cruickshank from Arden Country House told Edinburgh Live: “To say I’m surprised and delighted to have been awarded the AA Breakfast of the Year Award for Scotland is an understatement.
“Thank you to the AA for the wonderful surprise, beautiful award and a very special thank you to our wonderful AA Inspector for nominating us, we are thrilled to accept.”
Describing the B&B, an AA representative wrote: “Situated in the picturesque grounds of the Belsyde country estate and close to the Royal Burgh of Linlithgow, Arden Country House offers immaculate, stylishly furnished and spacious bedrooms.
“There is a cosy ground-floor lounge and a charming dining room where delicious breakfasts feature the best local produce. Complimentary refreshments and home baking are served to all guests who book direct with the property.”
