Andy Murdoch admits Ayr's players can't wait for the white hot derby atmosphere at Somerset Park tomorrow night.
United will bid to do a famous double over Kilmarnock, just weeks after their 2-1 win at Rugby Park.
And Murdoch hopes to be toasting another famous victory come full time under the lights.
He said: "It was a massive result at Killie the other week and we saw it as a turning point in the season.
"You look forward to these games, the start will be fast, but these are the ones you look forward to as a player.
"The atmosphere will be intense.
"In the last couple of months we've found a good balance in the team.
"The togetherness in the squad is a big factor just now.
"It's wasn't easy going through so many managers at the start of the season but the players have stuck together and the transition to the new gaffer has been good."

Murdoch's own form has taken a major upswing following the January arrivals of Ben Dempsey and Kerr McInroy.
And United's midfield three is starting to operate as a formidable force.
Murdoch added: "Ben and Kerr have really stepped up since coming in during January.
"They've helped not only me but the whole team and that's all we can ask for.
"I enjoy the challenge of others coming in as it brings the standards up and it's beneficial to the whole squad.
"If you put a foot wrong, you know someone else can come in and take your place."
