Ayr United fans are continuing to put their shirts on the club as thousands are raised to support the cause.
Match worn strips from the team's recent victory over Raith are being auctioned off to boost the club's successful AU Player Fund. The shirts - Ayr's new home kit for season 2023/24 - have also been signed by the players.
Fund officials have been blown away by the early response to their initiative, with more than £5,500 pledged in bids ahead of Wednesday evening's deadline. And they hope the final 48 hours will see a rush of frenzied activity.
Goal king Dipo Akinyemi's shirt is already trading for more than £1,700 as fans clamour to own a treasured piece of United merchandise. And with all monies raised going straight into the Player Fund - which recently soared past the £200,000 milestone - fans are giving an important boost to the pot.
The Fund's John Gemmell said: "We'd have been happy to raise a few thousand from this, so we've been delighted with the response so far. Every penny raised is going straight to the Fund and continues to help us make a real difference.
"Anyone who is outbid will be notified via email by 7pm on Wednesday. The final hour will then be an open bidding process with the highest bid claiming each shirt by the time the auction closes at 8pm."
