Lee Bullen told how a half-time rocket launched Ayr United to a stunning comeback win at Ochilview last night.
The Honest Men staged a grandstand finish to overhaul a two-goal deficit against newly-promoted Queen's Park
And Bullen praised the reaction of his men in coming off the canvas to go top of the table following their 3-2 Championship triumph.
He said: "As a football staff, the faith we have in this group is second to none and I'm delighted they come out in that second half and showed why.
"The boys certainly got a mouthful at half-time and they responded.
"They know that nothing I say to them is personal and the reaction I got was certainly what I wanted.
"We played a reserve game in midweek and the lads who played in that were outstanding.
"And it showed the benefit here because those who came on made a real impact."
United had fallen two behind inside 32 minutes when Simon Murray and Dom Thomas had the Spiders flying.
But a double switch at half-time helped to turn the tide, with subs Mark McKenzie and Daire O'Connor having a huge impact.
Dipo Akinyemi's strike just after the break turned the game on its head with Sean McGinty bulleting home a header to equalise.
And Akinyemi won it in stoppage-time when converting a penalty after Charlie Fox had handled.
Bullen added: "The goals we lost were disappointing and avoidable.
"But I thought our two central midfielders were the catalyst for us and drove us on during that second half.
"I was delighted for big Dipo to get his first goals as he's been working so hard for it and Sean has come up with a real captain's goal.
"The big man really stood up to his task and he's someone who works so hard in training every day. He has a huge respect in the changing room and I'm delighted for him."
