Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is proud of his Manchester City teammates after their draw with FC Copenhagen in Denmark. City thought they had taken the lead just ten minutes in when Rodri unleashed a rocket into the top corner, but VAR directed the referee to a handball in the build-up by Riyad Mahrez which ruled out the fine strike.
The Blues were left praising VAR 15 minutes later when it spotted a handball in the FC Copenhagen penalty area. Mahrez stepped up but saw his spot kick saved by Kamil Grabara.
Five minutes later and City were down to ten men when Sergio Gomez denied a blatant goalscoring opportunity. Despite being at a disadvantage for so long, the Blues held on for a valuable point.

Post-match, Laporte praised his teammates. "[It was a] Tough game," the central defender explained.
"We tried everything until the end. Obviously it was more difficult ten against 11.
"But we tried everything. I'm proud of the team how we reacted and how we played more than 60 minutes with one less player.
"It's important the spirit of the team being very good. I'm very proud of the team and now we're focused on the next one."
City knew pre-match that victory would see them qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. Fortunately, despite the draw, the Blues have qualified anyway thanks to Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla's stalemate.
Pep Guardiola's side join Real Madrid in the next stage of the European competition. Should City beat Dortmund in two weeks' time, they will secure top spot in Group G.
