Sam Thompson faced an awkward moment on air, when he was asked about ex-partner Zara McDermott’s boyfriend Louis Tomlinson.
The former Made in Chelsea star, 33, was live on Hits Radio show when a caller decided to ask him what he thought about former One Direction singer Tomlinson “stealing his girl” - just like the One Direction song, Steal My Girl.
McDermott and Thompson split in December 2024, after five years of dating - and Tomlinson and McDermott have been linked since March 2025.
“How do you feel about playing the song from One Direction Steal My Girl, knowing that actually one of the 1D boys did actually steal your girl?” listener Holly asked.

At first, Thompson was shocked, clasping his hands over his mouth and telling the listener: “Holly, I am live on air! How do I feel?”
But he then admitted he listens to the song as he travels around London.
“First of all, and I mean this when I say it, it’s a brilliant song. I still listen to it on the tube,” he confessed.
“I know that sounds weird but I listen to it on the tube all the time.”
Thompson - who has since moved on with new girlfriend Talitha Balinska - then had a very mature response, saying he was glad both of them had moved on.
“I don’t actually feel weird about it because I feel quite happy as long as everyone else is happy,” he said.
“I think everyone has found their person and I think that’s really, really nice.”
The reality star also noted he’d met Tomlinson at Soccer Aid last summer, saying he seemed like a “really nice dude”.
“And I’ve actually met said guy and he seems like a really nice dude so I feel pretty good about it to be fair,” he said.
“And it is an absolute banger. Everyone is looking for love you know.”
Thompson confirmed his romance with DJ/model Balinska on an episode of his podcast Staying Relevant last year.

It’s thought Thompson was set up with Balinska by former MIC star Reza Amiri-Garroussi, as Balinska has previously modelled for his sunglasses brand.
And, revealing all on the podcast, he said asking Balinska to be his girlfriend was a lowkey affair.
“Mate, it was just super relaxed,” he said on the podcast.
“It was so boring, really, but that’s kind of how I wanted it to be.
“We just went for dinner, and I was like, ‘I really like you.’ And I just went, ‘I’d love to be your boyfriend.’ I don’t know why I’m panicking more now!’”
He added: “Yeah, I just said, ‘Look, I really, really like you, and you make me feel really… comfortable. I feel like I can be myself around you. I don’t want to be dating anyone else.
“’I’m 33; I wouldn’t be dating someone this amount of time if I didn’t think it had legs to last. So, will you be my girlfriend?’ And she said, ‘Yes.’ And so I said, ‘Great’.”
