A Northumberland gastropub has opened four new shepherd's huts in time for Christmas.
The Apple Inn, in Lucker, is throwing its hat into the glamping ring by opening a selection of shepherds' huts which sleep two guests, named Badger's Sett, Otter's Couch, Squirrel's Drey and Fox's Den. It adds to the existing accommodation of two rooms above the pub.
The huts' interiors have been designed to create an "oasis of calm" and enjoy the surrounding attractions in what is described as a "beautiful" rural location. While the quiet village of Lucker itself isn't often mentioned as a stop on Northumberland itineraries, Bamburgh Castle and beach; Budle Bay; and Seahouses are all within 15 minutes by car.
Inside the huts, you'll find king size beds, en-suite bathrooms and log burners. Both the huts and the pub are dog-friendly too.
The pub has had a busy year being named the Best Gastro Pub in the North at the Food Awards England 2022 and making the shortlist for the 2023 North East Tourism Awards. The huts are now available to book ahead of Christmas and New Year and into 2023.
Johny Johnson, owner of the Apple Inn, said: "Everyone who comes to The Apple Inn, whether visiting us to eat, sleep or both – with and without dogs can expect the warmest of welcomes. It’s a place where we want you to feel completely relaxed."
The Apple Inn is part of by Stablewood Leisure; which also looks after The School House, Beau monde Salon & Spa, and Stablewood Coastal Cottages. To find out more about the Apple Inn and the new huts, visit its website.
