Award-winning Liverpool restaurant where you can watch your food be prepared

An award-winning Liverpool restaurant is offering guests a dining experience with a difference by giving diners the chance to watch their food be prepared in front of them.

Stanhope Street-based Chinese restaurant, Lu Ban, is offering a chef's table experience that allows food lovers to get an insight into a busy kitchen as a team of talented chefs prepare a range of sumptuous dishes.

The experience is available for a minimum of four guests and a maximum of six and allows diners to take a glimpse into the pressures and team work of a busy kitchen with Lu Ban's executive chef director, Dave Critchley.

Visitors can savour flavours of Tianjin inspired dishes in a fine dining experience that consists of seven courses. The chef's table experience costs £99 and allows diners to enjoy all of the dishes that were produced on chef Dave Critchley's appearance on The Great British Menu.

Dishes include oysters and Lu Ban drappier champagne, yin and yang hot and sour soup, master stock braised belly pork, trout toban jiang and lucky number eight fillet.

In addition to the chef's table experience, diners can also enjoy the theatrical food lab, stylish wine room and traditional Tianjin private room.

Dave Critchley said: "We have a fantastic selection of dining experiences at Lu Ban, but the chef's table is something quite special. The interaction between the guests, myself and the other chefs is priceless and the ambience and bustle of the kitchen is always fun and very entertaining.

"No two tables are ever the same and the diners interact as much or as little as they want to with the chefs. The food is always showstopping and the background to the dishes always impresses the diners. It is a unique way to spend a few hours and we absolutely love a lively chef's table."
