A brand new Italian restaurant is set to open in a busy area of Edinburgh next month, replacing a pizza joint which closed recently.
Antonietta will open on Leith Walk in place of La Favorita, both of which are owned by the successful Vittoria Group who run multiple restaurants across the city such as Taste of Italy, Bertie's and Divino.
The group are describing their new venture as "fiercely extravagant and daring" ahead of the launch on December 3. The restaurant will explore Italy's hospitality scene while honouring the "strong, extroverted and passionate" Italian nature.

There will be two dining rooms and a vibrant space created to impress guests. Some of the dishes on offer include Beef & Nduja Mafaldine pasta and a popping yolk Pizza with Cacio e pepe sauce, Fior di Latte & Pancetta strips. A Limeoncello and Pink Gin slushy as well as Organic wines will be part of the drinks menus.
All of Antonietta's ingredients will be sourced as locally as possible, or direct from small suppliers in Italy.
Vittoria Group Director Leandro Crolla said: "We have fought with tram works on Leith Walk for years; nevertheless, there is now light at the end of the tunnel as we say goodbye to La Favorita Restaurant after 17 years, we welcome Antonietta - a loud and bold Italian eatery that serves a 'new look' neighbourhood.
"The pizzeria brand lives on in our takeaway and home delivery businesses under our La Favorita Delivered, which continues to thrive in the city."
A special interior design firm are being drafted in to deck out the restaurant that will seat 140 customers.
