Mod Sun has spoken out after his engagement to Avril Lavigne was called off.
News of the pair's split broke a week ago and now the singer has taken to Instagram to describe the pain he is feeling at the pair no longer being an item.
Taking to the social media platform, the 35-year-old wrote: "In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken."
His words come as he's currently touring to promote his God Save The Teen album and he went on to thank his fans for their support during this difficult time in his life.
He added: "Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage."
Fans flocked to the post, which included a selfie snap of him wearing a white tank top and a sombre stare, to offer him further support.
One user wrote: "You're a true pro moddy and so important to so many people. Never forget that!," while another penned: "People switch up way too fast. Minnesota hearts aren't designed for that chaos."
A third added: "You deserve happiness my friend, the right one will find you."
Avril also took to social media on Tuesday to share pictures from her time at Paris Fashion Week. In a perhaps cryptic statement, the jacket she wore was emblazoned with phrases such as "break my heart," "be yourself," and "be patient".
Mod and the Sk8er Boi singer, 38, got engaged in March last year during a romantic proposal in Paris with the Eiffel Tower glistening in the background.
The couple were known to regularly share photos of them loved up on their own Instagram accounts, but fans had recently noticed such images had seemingly quietened down in recent months.
Their last post together came on Christmas Day as the pair showed off their ice skating skills together. Since then, rumours circulated their relationship was in trouble as they avoided any further uploads.
Sources told TMZ the couple's relationship had been strained for months and speculation mounted further after she was snapped hugging Kylie Jenner's ex Tyga as they joined friends for dinner at Nobu
However, the sources stressed they have a platonic relationship and have been friends for many years.
