Average price of petrol in the UK reaches 170.54p a litre

  • The average price of petrol in the UK has reached 170.54p a litre, while diesel has climbed to 192.86p, according to RAC data.
  • Filling an average family car now costs nearly £5 more than at the start of September, standing at £94 for petrol and £106 for diesel.
  • Diesel and petrol prices have hit their highest levels since July and August 2022 respectively.
