James Cameron's 'Avatar: The Way of Water' was off to a big start at the Indian box office, smashing past the Rs 100 crore mark in just its first weekend. However, going by the early box office reports, the film has seen a steep decline in ticket sales on its first Monday.
According to various box office reports, 'Avatar 2' will witness a big drop in numbers, which is not unusual for a film that has been raking in over Rs 40 crore consistently over its debut weekend. The film earned an estimated Rs 127 crore nett in three days. Reports state that the decline in ticket sales on Monday, lead to the film collecting around Rs 12-15 crore. With this, the film's overall total is expected to rise to around Rs 140 crore.
