Autorickshaw driver booked for robbing minor in Thane

KALYAN: The Vishnu Nagar police in Thane's Dombivli booked an unidentified autorickshaw driver for snatching gold chain of a 13-year-old passenger.

After attending tabala class on Wednesday evening, the boy was returning to his home in an auto rickshaw when the driver took him to Bavan chawl ground instead of his residence in Dombivli's Devi chowck area and snatched from him a 15-gm gold chain worth Rs 70,000.

The accused later fled from the spot along with the autorickshaw.

Upon reaching home, the victim narrated the incident to his father who filed a police complaint in this regard on Thursday.

Subhash Nalavade, assistant police inspector of Vishnu Nagar police station said, "We are checking CCTV footages around the route to nab the accused".
