Prosecutors in Wels say reports of a rape network remain unconfirmed in Austria's so‑called 'Pelicot 2.0' case, which centres on the death of a woman in Marchtrenk on 26 June and has drawn international attention.

Austrian media have drawn comparisons with Gisèle Pelicot's case in France after allegations that the woman's husband and another man sexually abused her while she was incapacitated. Investigators are examining whether other men were involved, potentially for payment.
