Australian TV host mocks Zach Tuohy's Irish accent in cringeworthy on air moment

An Australian TV host has mocked Zach Tuohy's Irish accent in a cringeworthy TV moment at the expense of the Aussie Rules legend.

Tuohy is undoubtedly one of the most decorated Irish exports to Australia, second to only the legendary Jim Stynes in number of appearances in Australian Rules and was openly mocked on the Fox Footy's 'Bounce' TV show.

Andrew Gaze, a former basketball player and coach turned TV personality appeared on the show and after an interview with Tuohy aired he said: "Cut the crap Zach, you know that's not what you really wanted to say. It's more like this."

The interview with Tuohy then aired with an insulting mock Irish accent voiced over the Laois man.

The voiceover says: "Oh to be sure, to be sure. Top of the evening to ya, what about the craic?

"That bogeyed mother wearing leprechaun. The last time I caught the Glasgow handshake like that is when I nicked a bloke's Guinness at Paddy O'Reilly's and he put me on my arse like a sack of spuds.

"Ah, for f*** sake I'm Zach Tuohy, not Conor McKenna. And fair play to the young fella, aye. I'll have to take him out and get on the lash."

The clip ends as TV hosts and audience erupt in laughter and applause.

And social media users did not see the funny side of it with one writing: "Unfunny people trying to be funny…"

While another adds: "Mortifying stuff."

And another said: "Embarrassing."
