MELBOURNE: Australia women's team captain Meg Lanning is hoping that cricket's appearance at the upcoming Commonwealth Games could go a long way in helping the sport enter the Olympics.

Lanning and Co. will be competing at the Birmingham showpiece, starting July 28, as cricket returns to the Commonwealth Games for the first time since 1998.
