The driver of an Audi has died after the car hit a central reservation and burst into flames.
Cheshire Police rushed to the M56 between junctions seven and six at around 6.47am on Friday, June 10, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a silver Audi R8 well alight having crashed into a central reservation.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were able to put out the fire but the driver died at the scene. The person’s family were made aware and they are being supported by officers.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage or witnessed the collision to get in touch.
