Attention Procrastinators! These Are The Christmas 2024 Postal Deadlines You Need to Know

Alright, you procrastinating legends, listen up! It’s that time of year again when we all pretend we’re going to be organised for Christmas, only to end up panic-buying gifts the night before.

But fear not, because Australia Post has come to the rescue with their 2024 Christmas posting deadlines, and we’re here to break it down for you in true lazy person style.

Australia Post domestic deadlines

If you’re sending pressies within Australia, here’s the lowdown:

Parcel Post: Friday, December 20 

That’s right, you’ve got until the 20th to get your act together and ship those parcels. But let’s be real, you’ll probably wait until the 19th.

Express Post: Monday, December 23

For all you last-minute shoppers (I see you, I am you), Express Post is your best friend. Just remember, it’ll cost you extra, so maybe start saving those coins now.

Christmas Cards: Friday, December 13 for interstate, and Monday, December 16 for same state. 

Because nothing says “I care” like a randomly scribbled card that arrives just in time.

International deadlines, for when you’re feeling fancy

Sending gifts overseas? Aren’t you committed to the cause! Here are your deadlines:

Economy Air: Between November 19 and December 4 

Perfect for those “I thought of you months ago” gifts that are actually just whatever was on sale.

International Standard: November 26 to December 11 

For when you want to pretend you put in more effort than you actually did.

International Express: December 2 to 16 

Because sometimes you remember your overseas relatives exist at the last minute.

Don’t forget the fine print

Now, before you go patting yourself on the back for being so organised, there are a few caveats:

1. If you’re sending to or from WA or NT, add a few extra days. Because apparently, time zones exist etc…
2. These dates above are for most destinations. Some places might have different deadlines, so double-check before you start congratulating yourself.
