At least 21 dead as Seoul nears its hottest day on record

At least 21 people have died in South Korea's heatwave, with an area in Seoul recording 39.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

It was after a night in which temperatures in some neighbourhoods barely dropped below 30C.
