Aston Villa are trying to complete the signing and registration of left-back Alex Moreno from Real Betis before their clash with Leeds United on Friday.
The 29-year-old did not travel with his teammates to Saudi Arabia as Betis face Barcelona in the Super Cup final this weekend amid rumours he's set to become Unai Emery's first addition at Villa Park.
According to the Times, the deal is said to be worth around £12 million, with Emery looking to bring at least three more additions into his squad before the closing of the window.

It's believed that Villa are trying to push the deal through as fast as possible in order to get Moreno registered before they play hosts to Jesse Marsch's side on Friday night.
Despite already having Lucas Digne, Ashley Young and Ludwig Augustinsson on the books, Emery is believed to have wanted another left-back in order to add further depth to a position he was weak.
After the side's shock upset loss in the F.A Cup third-round to Stevenage over the weekend, it shouldn't be a surprise to see their first signing the window come so quickly, especially in a defensive position.
