NEW DELHI: In a surprising turn of events, Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia suffered a defeat in the semifinals of the Asian Games, losing 1-8 to Iran's Rahman Amouzadkhalili. Bajrang Punia, a two-time world champion, had a less than ideal build-up to the tournament, with controversy surrounding his selection and protests against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief. Despite starting the day with two easy wins, Bajrang struggled against the formidable Iranian opponent and was unable to secure a spot in the final.
