Man arrested on suspicion of murdering Ashley Dale in her home
Merseyside police have arrested two people in connection with the shooting of Ashley Dale.
A man was arrested on suspicion of the murder of the 28-year-old and a woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Ashley Dale was shot dead in her own home in Old Swan, on Sunday, August 21.
Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings said: "Our thoughts remain with Ashley Dale’s family and friends following this appalling incident which led to her tragic death. Our officers have now made two arrests last night. Enquiries continue to establish the motive behind this attack, and identify all those involved.

"This was a callous attack carried out on a residential street which has brought tragedy to the heart of a community in Merseyside, and we will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice. Although we have made two arrests we still need members of the public to come forward with information too so we can keep our streets safe."

Thousands of Shell Energy customers to receive refunds
Shell Energy is to pay more than £500,000 after overcharging thousands of customers for their gas and electricity since the energy price cap was put in place over three years ago.
The business will be forced to return £106,000 to the 11,275 households it has been overcharging since January 2019, regulator Ofgem revealed. It will also pay out an extra £30,970 in goodwill payments to the affected customers and contribute £400,000 towards a support fund run by the regulator.
Ofgem said the customers, who all have pre-payment meters, had been overcharged between January 2019 and September 2022. Shell reported the problems to Ofgem itself after it discovered them in March 2022.

Second target in Olivia Pratt-Korbel murder identified by police
A second man who was targeted by the gunman in the Olivia Pratt-Korbel murder has been identified by police.
An unknown gunman targeted two men on Kingsheath Avenue in Dovecot at around 10pm on Monday, August 22. Olivia's mum opened the door to see what was happening on her street before one of the targets, Joseph Nee, forced his way into the home.
The gunman followed before opening fire into the home, with a bullet hitting Olivia's mum, Cheryl, in the arm before fatally hitting the nine-year-old who was stood behind her.
