Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee separate less than year after daughter Azaylia's tragic death

Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee have gone their separate ways.

The couple went through the heartbreaking ordeal of losing baby girl Azaylia to cancer when she was just eight-months-old.

The split comes just a year after her death.

Azaylia battled against a rare form of leukaemia before tragically passing away on April 25 last year.

A source said had been an 'incredibly painful decision' for Ashley and Safiyya.

"No one knows how something so tragic can affect a couple," they told The Sun.

"They will always love and support each other, and still live together, but the romantic side of their relationship has come to an end."

Reality star Ashley and Safiyya's plight was one which many people in the UK followed avidly, due to their strength and determination to keep going when their daughter was battling the odds.

Earlier this month Ashley paid tribute to Safiyya on International Women's Day, calling her 'fearless and strong'.

"I would like to shine light on the mother of my child. Someone who was fearless, strong, loving and caring every single day she stood by our daughters side during her battle.

"Someone who remains fearless, strong, loving and caring towards others despite our devastating loss, as a powerful advocate for childhood cancer and trustee of our beautiful daughters foundation.

"She is someone who wants to use her pain to make a difference in this world in the hope that others in the future won’t have to feel the same.

"I’m proud of everything that you have done and continue to do," he penned.
